Social Justice Fund for Ventura County

Moving from charity to social justice philanthropy

The Social Justice Fund (SJF) for Ventura County provides grants to organizations working to change the root causes of some of our County’s most pressing social, economic and environmental issues.  Our objective is to make a difference in the chronic problems of society—problems of justice and fairness—so that our systems and markets work the same for everyone regardless of race, gender or circumstances of birth. To this end the Social Justice Fund nurtures and supports groups striving to give a voice to the working poor, the disenfranchised and underrepresented, and those protecting the environment that sustains us all.  Our grants help grassroots organizations to develop leaders, mobilize and become increasingly effective advocates for change.

The Social Justice Fund for Ventura County promotes fairness, equality and human rights.  We strengthen social justice by "creating change, not charity."
